Hamifal Ashkelon – “Neve Haroeh” Youth Village

The “Neve Haroeh” youth village was established in 1977, in order to provide a therapeutic framework for religious children in Ashkelon who need out-of-home placement. In the youth village, about 70 children aged 6-18 are cared for in 6 family homes.

The main objective of the village is to give children a sense of home and family and to provide them with a family model with which they can emulate and identify. This special family setup cares for the children’s emotional needs, and Jewish education and lessons on values in the village follow the religious Zionist concept of tolerance and good will.

This approach allows us to treat each and every child individually and help them realize their full potential and ensure that they can adequately integrate into society, are good citizens and have personal independence,

The traditional religious nature of the youth village is reflected in the strengthening and deepening of Jewish identity through the proper observance of Shabbat, Israeli holidays and festivals; traditional lessons in the local synagogue; the unique focus on the Bnei Mitzvah ceremony, and by belonging to religious youth movements, such as Bnei Akiva and Tzedek.

Alongside the regular core academic studies program, there is an afternoon social and teaching support program which includes:

If you are interested in helping us deliver the level of services these children deserve, we will be happy to provide you with more information and even give you a tour of the youth village.
