Yaheli Tells Her Story

“My name is Yaheli and I am 16 years old. I came to the youth village 7 years ago when I was in Grade 4. My teachers always told me I was smart, but I did not understand what they meant. When I arrived at the new school in Ramat Hasharon, I noticed the large educational and social gaps between my new school and the school I attended before moving to the youth village. To my fortune, I managed to shrink the gaps thanks to the supportive environment of the family home, the daily and structured routines, private lessons and day-to-day help from the parents of the home and the staff of the youth village. They helped me understand that I could have big dreams and aspirations, and that I could be whoever I desired to be. Today, I am studying at HaKfar HaYarok (the School of Excellence), in the pre-medical track, I am a higher achiever, and I want to, and I know I can, continue my studies in the field of medicine during my army service with the academic studies program.”
