WIZO Hadassim family Home

In the WIZO Hadassim Youth Village, there is one family home with children aged 7-16. This day-care centre operates under a comprehensive and broad organizational structure in accordance with Hamifal’s vision and adds its own unique approach as part of a larger youth village.

According to the organization’s family educational model, the children live together with a parent couple and their biological children in one house. The family home is run according to a normative family model and is accompanied by a supportive educational-therapeutic system.

Educational objectives of the family home include:

  • To provide the children with a stable, supportive and nurturing family environment
  • To assist and encourage the children in their academic education
  • To integrate the family home’s children into the community life in the village and into the community life in which they study
  • To tighten the connection between the family home’s staff and the families of the children
  • To create a safe environment for the children, with an emphasis on preventing violence, having mutual respect between the children themselves and between them and the adults
  • To teach values ​​while emphasizing attachment with the heritage and culture of Israel

Alongside the regular core studies program, there is an afternoon social and teaching support program which includes:

  • Art Therapy: A unique therapy designed to help children who have difficulty expressing their feelings verbally.
  • Extra tutoring: Remedial teaching and tutoring in core subjects for matriculation to assist children with their schooling.
  • Extra Murals: The children of the village are integrated into classes in the village and at the local community center.
  • Summer Activities: These activities combine learning and fun, and include camps, trips and lots of entertainment.
  • Parent-child activities: Here, we enable children to bond with their biological families through workshops, tutorials and joint projects.
