Hamifal Givat Ada - The “Neve Elisha” Youth Village
The Givat Ada Youth Village is located in the heart of a rural area, on the outskirts of the Givat Ada village, and is inspired by its pastoral atmosphere. There are about 70 children aged 6-18 in 6 family homes residing in this youth village.
Our main goal is to provide each of our children with a loving, happy and warm home where they can explore their academic abilities, realize their unique potential and strengthen their emotional resilience. We educate our children to be self-reliant, valued adults, with aspirations and goals of self-fulfilment in order to lead a healthy family life, have a successful personal career and be active members of society.
The core values of the village focus on three main areas:
Derech Eretz – Respect and politeness, identification of the good things in life to embody a gratitude mindset, and an appreciation for giving to others.
Integrity and Fairness – we encourage our children to act out of loyalty to themselves and the values they believe in, while examining their actions and understanding that they bear responsibility for the consequences of their actions. We instruct our children to behave equally towards every person whoever they are.
One of the educational cornerstones of the youth village is the involvement and integration of the children in the cultural and sporting activities of the wider community. This is achieved through participating in activities that take place in the local community centre, at the synagogue, in major community events, and in their integration in the educational institutions in the area.
In addition to the regular core studies program, there is an afternoon social support program which includes:
- Remedial Teaching: Tutoring is provided by professional teachers at the Afternoon Learning Centre.
- Resource Centre: This is a computers and audio centre that provides further enrichment.
- Extensive Library: A library in which children read and exchange books regularly.
- Art Therapy: A unique therapy designed to help children who have difficulty expressing their feelings verbally.
- Classes: The children of the village are integrated into classes inside and outside the village.
- Summer Activities: These activities include summer camps, trips, swimming in the sea and in the local swimming pool, and a variety of other activities.
- Bicycle Extramural: Here, children can enjoy cycling in nature.
- Marine Activities: In collaboration with the Marine Corps in Haifa, we organize tours, activities and fun days at the sea.
- Windsurfing: The children enjoy a unique and high quality activity at sea, where they face various challenges.
- Therapeutic Animal Area: This area helps new children to gain trust and adapt to the village.
- Bnei Mitzvah Project: This project has been operating annually in the village for many years. We work in coordination with the biological families in order to pull off the Bnei Mitzvah Project, which has become a household name.
